Alia’s Life List Annotations
#2 Visit/swim in an ocean: Going to the Ocean is something all of my friends have done, but me. Whenever people talk about what they did on breaks, they all go to exotic places while i'm at some kind of sports tournament. I am going to visit my cousins this summer in Florida, and I think they are going to take me to the beach. I could finally say that I have been to the beach.
#3 Complete a triathlon: Completing a triathlon is something I want to do because my dad does them, and when I have kids I want to be their role model (as my dad was mine) and have them also compete in triathlons. I would accomplish my goal by staying in shape and never forgetting my goal. If I stay in shape when i’m older I could be healthier and live longer.
#4 Go skydiving: Diving out of an airplane had always sounded really cool to me, and only the really brave people would do it. I want to be one of those people, maybe just to say that i've done it. I think it would change the way people look at me, like I was setting some kind of an example. Just that feeling when you know other people are looking up to you. I think I could do this with a few brave friends when i’m older, maybe in my twenties.
#6 Go to Australia: Visiting another continent sounds like a lot of fun, because I haven’t even been out of the country. I originally wanted to go to Germany, but my dad had already been and said he didn’t enjoy it that much, and he said he would want to go to Australia if he could go anywhere he wanted. It wasn’t the first time I had heard about how cool Australia is, because in third grade I had a friend go during winter break, he brought back pictures, souvenirs, and presented it to our class. If I saved enough money to go wherever I wanted in the future, I would go to Australia with my dad. If I went I think I would learn about other cultures and other wildlife we don’t have in the US.
#9 Climb a mountain: Climbing a mountain is something that looks fun to do, something different, and I think I might be the first one in my family to climb a mountain if I do it. Since I have friends in Colorado I think that's where I would go to do it. I think as a person I want to see if I can push myself to do something like this, just to see if I can really do it.
#10 Donate to an animal shelter: Since I love animals and would like to help them out, but can’t because i’m too young, this is what I could do instead. I could raise money by having a lemonade stand, or a bake sale. I think this experience would help to show me that donating really does make a difference, because as a child I remember bringing food to church and leaving it somewhere, but never knowing what happens to it after that.
